Akari Minase (
Appearance[]
Akari is a short girl with medium-length black hair and big blue eyes with thin eyebrows.[3]
In battle, she wears the usual uniform of the Defense Force.[3]

Akari is a kind and determined girl who is always doing her best to fulfill her tasks and keep up with everyone else.
She is less hot-blooded than her peers in the Third Division and seems to be particularly close to Kikoru Shinomiya and Hakua Igarashi.[1]

Before joining the Defense Force, Akari was on the health committee.[4]
Plot[]
Sagamihara Neutralization Operation at Daybreak Arc[]
After the defeat of the Fungal-type kaiju, Akari and the rest of the Third Division celebrated the newbies' first mission.[5]
Raid on Tachikawa Base Arc[]
During the raid of the pack of Wyvern-type kaiju, Akari was saved from a kaiju by Kafka Hibino. After coming across Kikoru Shinomiya and Leno Ichikawa, Akari and Kafka were dispatched to help the injured.[3] She later witnessed as Kafka transformed into Kaiju No. 8 to save everyone from a Yoju-bomb.[6]

At some point after the attack at Tachikawa Base, Akari texted Kafka Hibino to check on him.[7]

Power & Abilities[]
Overall Abilities: Despite being a member of the Defense Force, Akari doesn't seem to be strong enough to deal with kaiju like Wyvern-types.[3] However, she is skilled in first aid.[4]

- The name Akari means "light" (あかり) in Hiragana.
- Akari's surname Minase contains the kanji for "waterless" (水無, mina) and "swift current, rapids" (瀬, se).
