Chapter Eighteen is the 18th chapter of the Kaiju No. 8 manga series.
Summary[]
The Kaiju No. 9 sees Kafka’s kaiju form and recognizes him as the “rumored” kaiju no. 8. Kafka puts an injured Leno down as he prepares for another attack and asks him to stay put. Despite knowing of Kafka’s great strength as a kaiju, Leno is worried nevertheless. The Humanoid kaiju isn’t so surprised by Kafka’s arrival but is confused as to why he is aiding humans as a kaiju, though he reveals that he still wants to use his corpse as one of his pawns because of his enormous power. After saying this, he shoots Kafka’s chest twice. Seeing Kafka bleed, Leno is shocked as he did not expect Kafka to get injured in his kaiju form.
Despite the kaiju not looking intimidated, he prepares even more grotesque weapons from his body. Seeing this, Iharu realizes that he had just been warming up against him and Leno. Instead of being fearful, Kafka is outraged that the kaiju had been firing such things in Leno and Iharu’s bodies, which alarms Leno. Kafka immediately launches forward and lets out an extremely powerful roar, though the humanoid kaiju stays indifferent. Despite this, the kaiju is confused, which allows Kafka to throw multiple punches at him. Trying to block the punches, the kaiju releases a wall of corpses to let him time to regenerate, but Kafka breaks the wall before he can do so.
Recognizing that Kafka has the upper hand, the kaiju decides that he should retreat but had no opening to do so because of Kafka’s many attacks. Kafka then hits the kaiju’s core. This does not kill him but leaves him unable to move. Looking forward to his victory, Kafka is about to finish the battle but the Dfense Force arrives and prepares to attack Kafka as he is still in his kaiju form.

- As the Humanoid Kaiju recognizes Kaiju No. 8, the latter puts Leno down and is warned by the latter to be careful.
- The Humanoid hits Kafka, before releasing a barrage of blows eventually blocked by Kafka's energy beam.
- As Kafka hits it, the kaiju tries to flee, but Kafka hits it multiple times until it's incapacitated.
- The Ikaruga Platoon Delta Squad arrives on the scene, individuating Kaiju No. 8.
