Chapter Twenty-Seven is the 27th chapter of the Kaiju No. 8 manga series.
Summary[]
Akari is about to get attacked by a kaiju before Kafka comes to her rescue. Minase is thankful for what he did and is glad he is able to use it effectively at this point, which makes Kafka proudly sheepish. Before any more can be exchanged, however, the kaiju that Kafka had help back slightly comes again to attack, but this time Kikoru defeats it swiftly with her ax. Leno arrives as well and Kikoru tells Minase and Kafka that she and Leno will be in charge of bait the kaiju while they should help out the injured. Before leaving. Leno tells Kafka not to be reckless.
Shortly after, Konomi announces that Nakanoshima and Ebina platoon have finally arrived at the base, which reassures Kafka. Additionally, more platoons and members come to aid those already fighting. Before leaving with Minase, Kafka remarks that everyone has worked as hard or even harder than him to get as far as they did. On his side of things, Soshiro Hoshina vows to defeat the Kaiju No. 10 once more and slices off his hand as well as gaps of his shell. The kaiju thinks that this is only foolish but is quickly proven wrong once Soshiro makes another cut through his body as the other strikes were only diversions.
Despite his injuries and danger, the kaiju finds pleasure in combating Soshiro as he considers fighting should be an exchange of blows with an opponent with rivaling strength. Soshiro then slashes the kaiju in multiple swift blows but it regenerates nevertheless.
