Chapter Thirty-Five is the 35th chapter of the Kaiju No. 8 manga series.
Summary[]
Despite Director General Isao Shinomiya's claim that beings that can stop bullets with their flesh cannot be called human, Kafka Hibino states once more that he is not Kaiju No. 8, but a human. Unconvinced, Director General Shinomiya unlocks weapon FS-1002, and begins to attack Kafka once again. Despite the clear increase in strength, Kafka vows to not fully transform, in order to prove he is still human. This plan quickly becomes ineffective, as Director General Shinomiya's first attack not only destroys the ground of the facility, but severs Kafka's transformed arm as well.
Shinomiya's second attack sends Kafka into the roof, forcing him to partially transform most of his body and face, so as not to be killed by the blow. As the battle continues, Kafka realizes he's getting the same feeling from Director General Shinomiya that he gets whenever he fights numbered kaiju.
Deputy Director Keiji Itami remarks to an onlooking Kikoru Shinomiya that the specialized gauntlet and suit (FS-1002) Chief Shinomiya is using to fight, are created from the body of Kaiju No. 2; a monster so overwhelming it almost drove Sapporo City to destruction decades prior, and the only person capable of wielding this power is Director General Shinomiya himself.
Kafka finds himself quickly losing ground in the fight against Director General Shinomiya, and is unable to fully dodge a strike that completely destroys Kafka's legs. Now that Kafka is unable to move anymore, Director General Shinomiya delivers a devastating strike.
