Chapter Eighty Seven is the 87th chapter of the Kaiju No. 8 manga series.
Summary[]
Gen Narumi cuts off Kaiju No. 11's left arm as the kaiju is confused, who notes that all of the eyes on Narumi have changed colors from red to green, something that was not in Isao's memories. As the kaiju launches offensive water orbs towards Narumi, the commander squints his eyes as he reads every single move made by his opponent, continuously injuring it despite its best attempts to form a defense. No. 11 asks what is going on as Narumi begins to recall old memories.
As a teenager, Narumi found himself facing absolute defeat for the first time when he scuffled with Isao. Outmatched in all forms of combat, a frustrated Narumi delivers result after result, even donning Numbers Weapon 1, only to face Isao's unimpressed expression. Lamenting that he never surpassed the director general before the latter's death, Narumi's brain undergoes enormous amounts of stress as he utilizes the results of years of training RT-0001.
Kaiju No. 11 loses chunk after chunk of its body as it begins to dawn on the kaiju that Narumi is reading the future of its water orbs. Enraged, No. 11 claims that No. 1's ability is pseudo foresight rather than true foresight, to which Narumi replies that he can read the movement of electrons, terrain, flow of heat, and every other detail via his numerous eyes. To everyone's surprise, he notes that this ability developed as a result of his own training rather than No. 1's inherent abilities. Desperate, No. 11 launches water orbs which Narumi easily dodges as he proudly claims it to be his ace designed to finally wow Isao. Narumi closes the distance as he taunts No. 11's impending death before using Gunsword Technique #6: Seven-Branched Sword, destroying the kaiju once and for all.
