Appearance[]
Hikari was a averaged-size athletic woman with a jovial face and her appearance was very similar to that of Kikoru Shinomiya, having long blonde hair styled into a ponytail and similar face features.[3]
On duty, Hikari wore Kaiju No. 4, a light-colored armor suit featuring a long skirt.[3]
In her youth, Hikari's appearance was pretty much the same albeit her hair being slightly shorter.[6]

Hikari used to be a very strong yet understanding and caring individual as well as being more jovial and lively than her husband, Isao Shinomiya.[3]
History[]
In her youth, Hikari trained alongside future Fourth Division captain Jugo Ogata who encouraged Hikari when she had her compatibility test with Numbers Weapon 4.[6]
Ten years ago, Hikari was the famous captain of the Second Division of the Defense Force, being admired by many. One day, after a successful kaiju neutralization, she came back home with Isao Shinomiya and, welcomed by a young and cheerful Kikoru Shinomiya, Hikari heard her daughter declaring her desire to join the Defense Force to save her mom.[3]
A few time later, Hikari was involved in the series of cataclysms caused by Kaiju No. 6 and lost her life, sacrificing herself to stop the kaiju.[7][2]
Power & Abilities[]
Overall Abilities: Hikari was the captain of the Second Division of the Defense Force who used to be one of the strongest soldiers in the entire history of the organization. She is still seen as a very powerful combatant by many current high-ranking officers like director general Keiji Itami.[3] Before her death, Hikari would have taken over the position as captain of the First Division, the strongest division in the Defense Force.[8]

- High Unleashed Combat Power: As a former Defense Force captain, Hikari was capable of using a high amount of her combat suit's power when she was alive. Her maximum unleashed combat power while equipped with Numbers Weapon 4 was 93%.[9]

- Spearmanship Mastery: Hikari was highly skilled at using her spear to kill kaiju when she was alive and she boasted the highest kaiju kill count in the entire history of the Defense Force while equipped with Numbers Weapon 4.[10] According to her daughter Kikoru Shinomiya, Hikari's mastery with her spear was so great that every attack was extremely fast, precise and very powerful.[11]
