Kaiju No. 2 ( (かい) (じゅう) 2 (ごう) , Kaijū Ni-gō), also known as The Daikaiju of Destruction (破壊の大怪獣, Hakai no Daikaijū),[3] is an Identified Kaiju and the second kaiju to ever receive an I.D. number.[1] After being killed by the Defense Force, it was converted into Isao Shinomiya's Numbers Weapon 2 (識別怪獣兵器 (ナンバーズ) 2 (ごう) , Nanbāzu Ni-gō), before being eventually absorbed by Kaiju No. 9.[2]

Appearance[]

Kaiju No. 2 is a olive-green kaiju with a round stocky body covered in rocky plates, a long rocky tail and short thick arms with three fingers each. It has a white reptilian-like head with fourteen shining yellow eyes and a large mouth full of sharp teeth.[1]

Its former appearance as a Numbers Weapon was that of a scaly black armor and two silver-colored metal gauntlets, reaching the wearer's biceps and sporting two large black pipes on each forearm.[1]

Since being absorbed by Kaiju No. 9, No. 2 has now regained his original form, although fused with No. 9's improved form and drastically shorter than before.[3]

Powers & Abilities[]

Overall Abilities: As an Identified Kaiju, Kaiju No. 2 was a tremendously powerful and destructive monster, able to pose a threat to a whole city. Its power made its weaponized corpse is so strong that only a man of Isao Shinomiya's caliber could handle its might. As matter of fact, Isao, while using No. 2's power, was able to easily and heavily injure Kafka Hibino in his kaiju form, gaining himself a power on par with that of a Daikaiju,[1] despite being well passed his prime.

As a Kaiju[]

  • Immense Strength: As a giant-class Identified Kaiju, No. 2 had enough power to almost completely destroy a city.[1]
  • Immense Durability: No. 2 boasted remarkable resistance among its fellow Daikaiju, as its neutralization was very long.[1]
  • Sonic Attacks: Kaiju No. 2 used to expand the range of its attacks with powerful sonic blast.[4]
  • Energy Attacks: Kaiju No. 2 has shown the ability to release highly destructive energy, similar to electricity, from its mouth.[5] The suit that was forged from its corpse is also able to release super high levels of electromagnetic energy. This power, along with the rest of No. 2's weaponized body was absorbed by Kaiju No. 9.[6]

As a Numbers Weapon[]

  • Shield: While wearing Numbers Weapon 2, the user is able to produce a shield that can protect them from powerful attacks.[4]
  • Sonic Attacks: Through Numbers Weapon 2, the user can access No. 2's sonic powers. The result are extremely powerful blows with a much larger range of action.[4]
  • Energy Attacks: Numbers Weapon 2 allows the user to release massive amounts of energy to attack the enemy from afar.[5]

Trivia[]
