Tachikawa Base was the main venue where the Secondary Selection Exam of the Defense Force took place. During the exam, the venue was visited by an unknown kaiju, who revived the Honju of the exam which, in turn, wreaked havoc during the test.
After the Sagamihara Subjugation Operation, Tachikawa Base was attacked by a flock of wyvern-type kaiju guided by Kaiju No. 10. The Third Division of the Defense Force proceeded to protect the base, which counted multiple damages.
After the raid, most of Tachikawa Base was destroyed and 75% of it's functionality was reduced, making it unsuitable for training.
- "Tachikawa" contains the kanji for "erect" (立), and "river" (川), literally meaning "standing river".
